Sony enables the “Quantified Self”

Sony has reinforced their position as one of the world’s leading technology disruptors after unveiling ‘SmartWear’ on the opening day of CES Las Vegas. 

SmartWear is described as ‘life logging’ software and wearable hardware, and is designed to enable what Sony refers to as the ‘quantified self’. It allows users to better understand and change their behaviours by gathering data about themselves. As Jun Makino described, “We want to help you rediscover the best memories from the past as well as make smarter decisions for the future”.

Over the last few months, I have worked on a number of projects that have required sourcing appropriate imagery to reflect not only a brand, but a tone of voice, a feeling or particular principles. Finding the right visual component to tell the story you want is no doubt hard, and that’s without thinking about whether you have rights to use the image.
