The war has been and gone, and ‘digital’ has slain ‘print’ and in turn won the publishing battle. Small skirmishes still take place in certain publishing niches, but digital has all but won. Certainly in the eyes of big business and major publishers, digital just makes financial sense they cost less to produce can be easily stored, have a smaller eco footprint and can help little known publishers and authors reach markets previously unreachable. Rather than an customer from a remote part of indonesia unable to get a book shipped to them, they can now simple download the book almost instantly from amazon.
